"I feel incredibly fortunate that I was able to start my teaching career here...The teacher mentors are understanding; they help you figure out ways of teaching that will work for you (rather than tell you what to do), and their feedback is thoughtful and detailed. It is through this process and experience that you learn what it truly means to be a superhero – being the right person, for the right kid, at the right time. In this world of increasing uncertainty, it is without a doubt that we need more superheroes."

“As a first year teacher, I have found the teaching profession to be engaging, dynamic and hugely rewarding. It has offered opportunity to engage in a collaborative process with industry professionals together with the incredible minds of the next generation. Teaching programmes being delivered today are filled with innovation and creativity and are constantly adapting with our ever changing world. Becoming a teacher has meant I have felt part of a collective effort to encourage and inspire young lives whilst contributing to the community in a meaningful way. I would highly recommend becoming a teacher and engaging positively with future generations alongside passionate professionals”.

"A first-year teacher at Diocesan School for Girls is given the opportunity to grow in a teaching environment rich in resources, experience, and aspirations for learning. An educational environment like this is rare and appreciated when establishing foundational and pedagogical practice in the early stages of a teaching career. The PCT program is structured to ensure teachers are mentored across different faculties of the school to foster strong support and exchange in teaching knowledge."

“As a first-year teacher, I have been given time and freedom to explore different teaching styles and to determine what works for me. At the same time, I have received a lot of support and guidance from my mentors and colleagues to cope with various challenges and to grow as a teacher. This year has been very challenging due to the pandemic, but it was also particularly rewarding to see how teachers, students and parents all worked together to ensure the students could get the most out of the situation”.
