By training on-site there's the chance to be mentored by experts in your subject-area specialisation as you train. This new immersion track takes one year, provides a stipend, and gives you industry experience in a top secondary school for the whole year of training. ​

WHERE WILL I TRAIN?

There are 21 schools involved in the 2022 teacher training internship programme. Apply directly to the school(s) you're interested in working with. Upon acceptance at one school, you'll spend the year under that school's tutelage, working with staff at that school campus. The opportunity to be fully immersed in a school based environment is a unique addition to the current university-based teacher training model. Your coursework will be completed through the University of Waikato's online programme.
